n-tree's ZOO MOBILE Ticket
The oldest zoo in the world has added a new service to its modern ticketing system: n-tree and mobilkom austria have now made it possible to purchase day passes via the mobile phone. The service is up and running!
No more waiting in the queue at the ticket desk
For those who don't want to wait in a queue at the ticket desk for a day pass, they can now buy one easily via SMS. For the very first time we see mobile 2D barcodes in action, which are shown on the mobile phone displays and directly scanned at the turnstiles which have the corresponding n-tree mobile ticket reader installed.
This new service allows visitors even faster and more convenient access to the zoo. Visitors get their entrance ticket for the whole family easily via SMS to their mobile phone - anywhere, anytime. No stress, no queuing, no cash!

The ZOO MOBILE Ticket was tested in a pilot project and the follow-up survey has demonstrated high levels of user satisfaction: over 90 % were very/mostly satisfied. The majority of the sample proved themselves adept at handling the service from the start. Fast ticket orders as well as direct access without queuing at the ticket desk convinced all those who tested the product from 10 till 12 July. Associations in connection with the product ranged from modern, young to creative, appealing and exclusive. As a whole the total package was evaluated for its spontaneous use, smooth SMS ordering process, cashless payment as well convenient access without any waiting times at the ticket desk. Over 70% of the sample would recommend the service to others.
It works just like that:
To
purchase a MOBILE Tickets all it takes is an SMS which says "ZOO" to
the number 0828 20 200. Day tickets for children as well as adults can
be ordered by sending just one SMS. In addition it is necessary to
state the number of adults and children in the SMS. If it is for one
adult and two children, the SMS should say ZOO 1 A 2 C. After a brief
confirmation, the ticket is sent including a personal access code. The
zoo visitor receives two text messages: the first contains ticket info
and the ticket code. The second SMS contains a request to retrieve the
2D barcode ticket.
Payment
The service is available to all Austrian mobile phone owners who have a
payment option on their mobiles. Private A1, Orange, T-mobile and
tele.ring customers can pay for the ticket by paybox, directly via
their mobile phone bill, without extra signing up procedures and
additional charges. All other mobile phone customers, including prepaid
mobile phone users or corporate customers can pay for their tickets
with paybox and direct debit. The registration of this can be done at
www.paybox.at. Day passes for adults cost 14 Euros, children and young
persons cost 6 Euros (aged 6 - 19 years).
Technical requirements
The mobile phone in use must be WAP-enabled to open the info contained
in the SMS link for the barcode download. The vast majority of phones
used by Austrians meet this requirement. Should the 2D barcode not be
able to be downloaded, it is possible to gain access via the numerical
ticket code which is on the first part of the ticket. Should a ZOO
MOBILE Ticket be accidentally deleted, an SMS containing the word HELP
to 0828 20 200 is enough to get the ticket resent to your mobile.
